I'm trying to find a reliable way to enhance the Wi-Fi coverage in my small home. Even though my router is placed centrally, some rooms are still getting a weak signal. I'm considering options like a Wi-Fi extender, a mesh system, or maybe something else entirely. I'd love to hear any advice based on what actually works for you!

A mesh system could be ideal, but keep in mind that they need to be close enough to each other for good communication. If you have thick walls or other obstacles, that might be an issue. Alternatively, a range extender could work better as it connects directly to your main router either via an ethernet cable or through your home's power lines. My family uses powerline extenders, and as long as your electrical wiring isn't too old, they can work great! Plus, they often have more features like wired ports, which could be helpful.
That’s interesting! I always thought extenders were just a hassle, but maybe it's time to give them a shot.
If you choose a mesh system, definitely consider hard wiring the remote access points. It might work without hardwiring if the connection is solid, but a direct line is always best for speed and reliability. Just an extra tip: if you can, try to elevate your main router to over 6 feet—it sometimes helps improve the signal!
Great point about hardwiring! I did that and noticed a nice boost in performance.
I've heard installing routers higher-up can improve coverage, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
For my three-story place, a mesh system has been a game changer! The coverage is excellent, and it's really easy to configure and keep track of.
I've been using a mesh system, and I've found it to be fantastic! It was super easy to set up, and now I get a strong signal in every corner of my home.

I love powerline extenders! They work well in my home where Wi-Fi is spotty.
