I recently bought a budget PC for my 8-year-old brother. It has an Intel i7 3770 CPU, a 3050 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. He mainly wants to play games like Fortnite, BeamNG, and Call of Duty, and he doesn't mind the graphics quality. I'm wondering if this setup is good for him.

Even if graphics aren't a big deal, the i7 3770 is pretty old and may not handle newer games well. It also doesn't support Windows 11 and some requirements many games have today. I'd suggest looking for a system with a more modern AMD Ryzen CPU like the Ryzen 5 3600—it's a better choice for gaming.
Honestly, the 3050 is decent, but the i7 3770 is really outdated. You might run into some performance issues, especially with newer games. It could get annoying to use after a while.
I think it'll work fine for lower-demand games like Roblox and some casuals. Most 8-year-olds will end up just watching YouTube or playing simpler games anyway. But yeah, Call of Duty might be a stretch; I started around 10 myself, but each parent has their own comfort level.

It's wild, but OP mentioned COD, so who knows! Kids these days are starting younger.
