Is the Upgrade to 9070XT Worth the Extra $90?

I'm planning to build a gaming PC soon before prices keep going up, and I'm stuck deciding between the 9070 and the 9070XT to pair with my 7800X3D. The 9070XT costs about $90 more. I typically don't play very demanding games like Cyberpunk or Red Dead Redemption, just some lighter ones like Valorant, Fortnite, and Minecraft. Do you think it's worth spending that extra $90 for the 9070XT?

Take a look at performance comparisons; the 9070XT is about 10% faster. If you can spare the $90, I'd say just go for the XT and enjoy solid performance for years without needing an upgrade.

I have a 7800X3D and the base 9070, and it works well for my 3440x1440 setup. I wanted the XT initially, so if you can spend the extra $90 without hurting your budget, I’d recommend it. But honestly, if you’re comfortable with the 9070, you’ll be fine. Just weigh how much that $90 really means to you.

Right? If cash is tight, maybe hold off on the extra spend.

If you're mainly playing casual games at 1440p, the 9070 is probably sufficient. You can even push its performance closer to the XT with some tweaks, but it’ll void your warranty. Just consider how much you’d actually need that extra power.

Definitely go for the 9070XT! It’s one of the best value cards available right now. The performance jump is noticeable, and in most cases, only cards like the 5070Ti outperform it. Well worth the investment!

You should totally get the 9070XT if your budget allows it. It offers a bit more power which can be useful down the line as games evolve.

Exactly! A small price for a good future-proofing.

Honestly, for games like Valorant, Fortnite, and Minecraft, the 9070 is more than capable. It's kinda like debating if you should buy a super fast car just to drive around town. Save the cash and go with the standard version—you’ll still have an amazing experience!

True! Once you’re hitting those high FPS, it’s hard to even justify the upgrade.
