I've been using Windows for as long as I can remember, but now I'm stuck with a new HP laptop and I really don't want to deal with Windows 11. I'm completely new to Linux and have no idea how to get started. My laptop model is HP 15-fc0537sa, and any advice on switching to Linux would be really appreciated!

If you're just starting out, I’d recommend trying Linux Mint or Zorin OS. They’re beginner-friendly and should work well on your HP laptop. You can also check if your laptop is compatible with the distro you pick by using the LiveBoot option before making any changes.

Definitely give Linux Mint a shot! It's popular among beginners, and it has a user-friendly interface. Also, make sure to explore your software options through the package manager before trying other sources.

Good luck with your new laptop! Just a heads-up: many users report that Linux tends to have issues booting on HP hardware. Test everything in the installer environment to confirm that the WiFi and other hardware work properly.

You might want to try Fedora or OpenSUSE if you’re interested in tinkering. They have a lot of customization options! Just start by downloading the ISO for a distro and create a bootable USB. Test it in a live environment to see how everything works.

Keep in mind that some HP laptops have compatibility issues with Linux. It’s not impossible, but you might face some challenges. Checking out resources like 'ExplainingComputers' on YouTube could give you a better idea of what to expect.
