I've recently received an email from [email protected] stating that someone is trying to make a recovery request for my Apple account. I haven't used my Apple account in ages, and the request appears to be coming from Virginia. I initially ignored the email thinking it might be a scam, but now I'm concerned it might be genuine. I attempted to log in but encountered an error stating, "This action could not be completed due to an error." I could access the Apple Store, but I'm unable to log into my account. Given that I don't really use Apple products anymore, how serious is this situation, and how can I stop this person from accessing my account?

First, check if you’re signed in to your Apple ID on any devices. If you’re not, it’s possible that the person is trying to replace your trusted phone number, which would lock you out.

I’m not signed in anywhere, just to clarify. My last iPhone was like 7 years ago.
