A few days ago, after my Windows 11 computer installed an update, I noticed black bars about half an inch thick appearing on the top and sides of both of my monitors. The bottom of the screen is clear, and I'm certain these bars weren't there before the update. My setup has been the same for over a year, and I'm the only one who uses this computer, so nothing else has been changed. I've already tried several solutions including updating my NVIDIA driver, restoring to a previous system state, adjusting settings in the NVIDIA control panel, and resetting my monitors. The issue started on January 13 after the security update KB5074109. My monitors are set to their native resolution of 2560x1440 and refresh rates of 164Hz for the OMEN 32q and 144Hz for the BenQ EX2780Q. Is there anything else I can try to fix these black bars?

You might want to try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove your current NVIDIA drivers and then reinstall them. This can sometimes resolve weird display issues like the one you're experiencing. Make sure to download the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website afterwards. It could really help clean things up!
Have you checked your Display Settings? Sometimes after an update, your screen resolution might change unexpectedly. Make sure that it's set to the recommended resolution for both monitors.
Sounds like a classic case of resolution mix-up after an update. If you haven't tried already, just go to your Display Settings and verify the resolution is set correctly for both monitors.

Thank you! Yes, DDU stands for Display Driver Uninstaller. I had just disabled the driver in Device Manager and re-enabled it, but I didn't think about completely uninstalling it first. I will try that!
