I'm making the switch to Linux because I'm really tired of Windows and I need some help picking a distribution. I have an old HP LaserJet P1102 that I want to get working seamlessly. I don't need a Windows-like experience, but I'm interested in having solid desktop environments like KDE or GNOME—though I'm open to experimenting with different options. I'm not using Nvidia graphics, and I've tried Linux before, so I'm ready for some challenges. I'm looking for a cutting-edge distro with a fast and stable update cycle, similar to Fedora. What do you recommend?

Consider making a Ventoy multi-boot USB drive. This way, you can try out several distributions and see which one fits you best. People often stress too much about which distro to pick, so just have fun with it!
If you're looking for something cutting-edge yet stable, Fedora is probably your best bet. It’s well-supported and has quick updates. Plus, it should work fine with your printer using HPLIP software. Just make sure to install it once you set up Fedora!

Is my printer supported on Fedora?
