I'm about to build my first PC and I'm looking for some tips before I dive in. I want to know what components are essential to include and which ones I can skip. I really don't want to make any mistakes, so I'd appreciate any guidance. I'm planning to purchase everything when I return from deployment in three months. I've shared a link to my build list. To update, I switched to an RTX 5080 and scaled down the RAM to 4GB. For reference, my previous setup included a Ryzen 7 2700x CPU and a Ryzen 5700xt GPU, which I bought back in January 2020. I also updated the power supply to 850W.

Just a heads up, prices can change a lot, so suggestions might not hold when you're ready to buy. Also, do you really need 6TB of storage? That’s a hefty spend, about $500; you could use that cash for a better GPU, which will really boost your gaming experience.

I can get a better GPU if needed. The builder tool didn't show accurate prices for it. I was considering the 5070 Ti or 5080. I just want enough storage to avoid worrying about games—I like having my entire Steam library downloaded.
