AirDrop consistently fails when sending images from my MacBook Pro to iPhone

My iPhone 14 Pro Max and 16-inch 2021 MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro are both fully updated, but AirDrop transfers from Safari on the Mac to the iPhone fail every time. The iPhone appears correctly as the recipient and the transfer starts, but it soon stops with a failure message on the Mac. Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on both devices, and AirDrop is set to allow everyone. What else should I try to fix this?

Since Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and the AirDrop visibility settings are already enabled, try restarting both devices and then test again. Also keep them close together, unlock the iPhone before sending, and temporarily disable any VPN or firewall software on the Mac. If Safari is the only source that fails, save the image to the Mac first and send it from Finder or Photos instead.
