Am I at risk after downloading shady mods?

So, I've been experimenting with some mods and downloaded a bunch of sketchy stuff that needed Windows Defender disabled. Now I'm dealing with some annoying Wi-Fi issues and packet loss. I've run scans with Malwarebytes and Bitdefender, but they only flagged one random file that I quarantined. Could there still be malware lurking on my PC?

Yeah, it’s definitely possible you’ve got some unwanted stuff on your machine. Turning off Defender and messing with shady downloads can lead to a lot of things going wrong. So, if you're asking if you're safe, I'd say you're probably not.
