Are AI Tools Just Becoming Shelfware?

I've been seeing a trend where many investments in AI tools seem to just sit unused, not really providing the value we hoped for. For those of you who handle integrations regularly, how are you managing the interoperability issues? What strategies do you use to keep things streamlined and maintainable without falling into the trap of endless custom scripts? I'd love to hear your experiences and what has worked (or not) for you!

Totally agree! The surge of AI tools feels like the new SaaS sprawl. My team actually hit pause on adopting any new AI tools until we can sift through what's genuinely useful and what's just causing more headaches. One thing that's helped is insisting on open APIs from vendors before we even consider them. If they can't integrate well from the start, it's a no-go for us. We also run everything through a sort of 'integration sanity check' with IT to keep things under control before adding more tools. Heres hoping we can figure it out!

Sounds like a solid plan! Once you find a tool that passes the API test, how do you handle the actual integrations? Do you end up creating custom solutions each time, or are you developing a consistent framework to work with?
