Are Camera and Computer SD Cards Interchangeable?

I'm trying to clear up some space on my computer, which is running really low on storage. I've been searching for SD cards, but most of the info I find online just focuses on their use in cameras. Can someone clarify if there are specific types of SD cards for cameras versus computers? Would an SD card work in my computer as well as it would in a camera, or should I consider a different option for storage?

Some SD cards are mini-sized and some are full-sized, so keep that in mind. It's best to stick with reputable brands from major retailers because there are a lot of fakes online. For example, some cards might advertise as 1TB but are really only 16GB!

When people take SD cards out of their cameras, they usually use an SD card reader to access them on their computers. If you’re buying new storage, you might want to check out USB flash drives since they can also free up space easily.

While I can't speak for camera-specific SD cards, you might get a better price-to-storage ratio with an external drive. Just watch out for counterfeit SD cards and microSDs, since they can be misleading when you buy them.
