Are genuinely new LGA 1150 motherboards with NVMe support still available?

I'm looking for a motherboard for an LGA 1150 system that supports DDR3 and ideally has an M.2 NVMe slot. With NVMe SSDs sometimes costing less than SATA models, I'm wondering whether truly new boards are still being manufactured, or whether the listings described as "brand new" are actually refurbished or rebuilt products. Would a PCIe adapter be a practical alternative if the motherboard lacks native NVMe support?

A PCIe-to-M.2 adapter is often the easiest way to add an NVMe drive. The main issue is boot support: some older BIOS or UEFI implementations can use the drive for storage but cannot boot from it directly. In that case, you may need to boot from an existing SATA or USB drive and use the NVMe disk as secondary storage. Linux and Windows can both work with this setup when configured properly.

DDR3 is no longer the mainstream choice for new systems. Most current builds use DDR4 or DDR5, and DDR4 platforms are often preferred because theyโ€™re newer and more likely to support modern operating systems and features. An LGA 1150 system can still be useful, but itโ€™s generally an upgrade of existing hardware rather than a sensible basis for a new build.

There probably arenโ€™t any genuinely new LGA 1150 motherboards being produced anymore. The socket and its chipsets are over a decade old, so boards sold as new are usually refurbished, leftover stock, or rebuilt boards using older chipsets installed on newer PCBs. Some people have used these rebuilt boards successfully in NAS systems, but quality can vary.
