Are Intel CPUs Still Facing Damage Issues with Motherboards?

I'm contemplating purchasing the Intel Core i5-12500KF processor and I recently came across some concerns about Motherboard issues potentially damaging CPUs and shortening their lifespan. I was specifically looking at the Asus PRIME B860M-A WIFI-CSM Micro ATX LGA1851 Motherboard for my first build, but I want to make sure I'm not running into any problems. Is this issue still a concern today?

The concerns about damage were mainly linked to the Raptor Lake series (13th and 14th Gen). The newer Arrow Lake (15th Gen) processors don't seem to have those issues, so you're likely in the clear with your choice!

It can still happen with the 13th and 14th generation CPUs, but it’s not something to overly worry about unless you're specifically getting those. Honestly, even then, it’s not as concerning as it seems!

You don’t have to stress too much about this if you’re getting a Core Ultra. They aren't facing these problems at all right now!

Perfect, thank you!

Yeah, it was definitely limited to the Raptor Lake generation, so no need to worry if you’re looking at anything from Arrow Lake and beyond. Everything seems fine on those!
