Are My 4070 Ti Super’s Hotspot Temperatures Too High?

I have a Zotac 4070 Ti Super Trinity that I've been using for about a year and a half. I've opened it up two times: the first time just for the fun of it, and the second to replace the thermal paste because my initial application was pretty bad. After the second repaste, my temps were decent, with the core at 70C and hotspot at 85C during a FurMark test. However, I'm now seeing the core at 71C and hotspot hitting 95C under the same stress test. What really worries me are the gaming temps; in Detroit: Become Human, my core reaches 78C while the hotspot can spike up to 115C during gameplay, and I've seen similar readings in Spider-Man 2. I'm concerned as these temperatures were lower after the repaste. Here are my questions:

1. Are these hotspot temperatures dangerous?
2. Should I consider replacing the thermal pads since I've had the GPU opened twice already?
3. Should I stick to Arctic MX-6 for repasting, ensuring I apply it perfectly this time, or should I try something better like PTM7950?

Just to address a few common queries: my airflow is great; no temp changes with the panels on or off; the heatsink fins are clean; I followed the proper procedure for reassembly; I believe I used the right amount of paste because I spread it with a bank card; and even when I maxed out the fans, the temps only dropped by about 0.5-2C. At idle, the core sits around 41C and hotspot at 51C. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Definitely consider replacing those thermal pads. They can wear out over time and might not be doing their job anymore. Happy cake day, by the way!

You should grab some PTM7950, it’s a solid choice! I have the same card in white, and with the right paste, the temperatures really improve. Good luck with your repasting; it’s worth the investment!

That’s all I needed to hear! If people are seeing good results with the PTM7950, I’m definitely going to make the switch. Fingers crossed it helps!
