Are My 7800X3D Temperatures Normal While Gaming?

Hey everyone! I recently built a new PC with a 7800X3D CPU and a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler. While just browsing, my CPU temperature hovers around 60°C, which drops to about 55°C when idling. However, when I dive into gaming—especially CPU-heavy titles like Tarkov—my temps seem reasonable as they don't rise significantly. But when I play Arc Raiders, my CPU temperature spikes up to 80–85°C. Is this normal, or could there be something off with the game? I've noticed mixed reports from others about their CPU temps while playing Arc Raiders too.

Honestly, nothing to stress over. I also have a 7800X3D paired with a Thermalright WarFrame 360mm AIO, and my temps even during intense gaming stay below 65°C.

That does seem a bit high. Just double-check if you removed any protective plastic film from the bottom of your cooler. That can really mess with the cooling efficiency.

You're in a safe range. Just remember, this CPU can handle up to 95°C without issues.

Sounds pretty standard to me! I usually see temps around 80–82°C on my setup, and it hasn't been an issue so far.

You might want to undervolt your CPU if you haven't tried that yet. AMD chips benefit a lot from undervolting—I've set mine to a -25 curve offset. My temps are much better now, even in demanding games.

I did the same with my 7800X3D! Originally, my temps were hitting over 90°C in some games, but after undervolting and optimizing my fan setup, I rarely see temps above 62°C during gameplay. It made a huge difference!
