Are the temps for my Ryzen 5 9600 normal with the stock cooler?

Hey everyone! I just put together a new PC with an MSI B650 Pro motherboard, a Ryzen 5 9600 using the stock cooler, 32GB of RAM, an RX 9060 XT graphics card, a 650W PSU, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. My question is about the temperatures I'm seeing. At idle, the BIOS shows around 50°C, and in Windows, it's between 55 to 60°C. When I'm gaming, the temps can hit 85 to 90°C. Is this normal for the stock cooler? I plan to get an aftermarket cooler soon; should I expect a big difference in temperatures? Thanks!

Pretty much what CoolingMasterx said. The stock cooler isn't great, and those temps, especially under load, are pretty typical. An aftermarket cooler will definitely help bring those temps down!

Thanks for the confirmation! Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. My case can fit up to a 240mm AIO.

Yeah, the stock cooler isn't the best, so those temps sound about right. It's common for the Ryzen 5 9600 to run a bit hot with that cooler. Definitely consider getting an aftermarket one!

That's good to know! My case can only fit a 240mm AIO or a 160mm air cooler; do you have any recommendations?
