I came across Microsoft's documentation that says I can cancel a 3-year reservation without an early termination fee. That got me thinking—can I really sign up for a 3-year commitment and then cancel after just a few months without any penalties? This would be for a small setup, and I anticipate my Azure spending won't go over $50,000 in the next year. I don’t think there are any hidden catches, at least based on my last experience a few weeks ago. They have hinted at possibly changing this policy eventually, but for now, locking in 3-year reservations is worth it. Some services can save you around 65%!
