I'm currently gaming with a Ryzen 5 5600G and an RX 7600, focusing on competitive games where I prioritize low graphics settings and high FPS. I was considering a CPU upgrade, but it seems like AM4 options have dried up. The last meaningful performance boost appears to be from X3D models, but they're outrageously priced—over $400 on various sites! Is there any point in upgrading on the AM4 platform, or should I just stick with what I've got? I'm not keen on switching to AM5 right now.

Upgrading to a 5800X could give you around a 25-30% performance increase. But honestly, there aren't many solid AM4 choices left for you beyond that.
If you're looking for upgrades, the 5700X is one of the more affordable and significant options, followed by the 5800X. The X3D models are good but pretty pricey. There might be some Intel options out there too, but I haven’t followed those closely.
Got it, thanks for clarifying!
The Ryzen 5800XT could really give you a nice performance boost if you can find it at a good price.
Seems like the only option really, thanks for the tip!
This is super helpful!

I was getting a sketchy report from AI claiming it was only a 5% boost vs. my current chip, which threw me off. I'll keep that in mind—thanks!
