I'm considering getting the AMD 9800X3D and pairing it with the Asus ROG Strix X870 motherboard, but I want to know if there are still any issues with these components. I've searched around but haven't come up with much information. Are there alternative motherboards that might be more reliable?

I haven't seen any updates from Asus regarding their internal review on the 9800X3D issues. That said, I'm not entirely convinced you really need the X870 motherboard at all. Strix boards tend to be pricey and may not offer enough added value for what you get. Is there a specific feature you're looking for that the more affordable B850 boards can't provide?
Good point! The pricing on Asus' Strix line is pretty steep. I noticed that the MSI B850 Tomahawk is about $50 cheaper than the Strix B850, and it would save you even more compared to the X870E-H. I really wonder how many people buy the X870E thinking it boosts performance just because of the name, especially if they're just gaming.

Exactly! I initially overlooked the B850, but honestly, it might just be all you need without overspending.
