ARK Audio Cuts Out After a Few Seconds and PC Makes a Squeaking Sound

I'm new to PC gaming and have had this computer for only a month or two. ARK: Survival Evolved worked normally for several weeks, but after I stopped using the PC for three or four days, the game began having an audio problem. When I launch ARK, sound works for about five seconds, then cuts out completely. At the same time, the PC makes a squeaking or buzzing sound for two or three seconds. Audio continues to work normally in my other games. I've already reinstalled ARK, removed all mods, and confirmed that Windows is up to date. Could this be an ARK-specific issue, or should I check my drivers or hardware?

Since the problem only happens in ARK, start by checking for updates to the game, Windows, and your audio or graphics drivers. You can also use the game launcher’s file verification tool to check for corrupted files. If those steps don’t help and other games still have normal audio, the issue may be specific to ARK rather than your PC.

There doesn’t appear to be an ARK update available, and I already reinstalled the game and removed the mods. Windows is updated too. I’m not very familiar with updating drivers, so I’ll need to look into that next.
