AsRock Phantom 1600W vs Seasonic Noctua 1600W: Which PSU is the Better Choice?

I'm in the market for a high-quality power supply unit (PSU) that will last me for years without any issues. I've heard great things about the Seasonic Noctua PrimeSonic 1600W for its exceptional build quality, but the AsRock Phantom 1600W is appealing too, especially since it includes GPU protection and has those colorful 12HPWRV cables. Currently, I have a 1300W XPG Cyber Core II, but it's been unreliable and randomly fails to start, which is causing problems with my gaming. I'm looking for some advice on which PSU to go for!

I hear you on the need for reliability! The AsRock's added protection sounds like a smart move, especially if your current setup is causing issues. While the Noctua is praised for its build, the extra safety from the AsRock could save you from potential headaches down the line. Just make sure whatever you choose can handle your gear for the long haul!

If you need a solid, reliable PSU for future use, I'd lean toward the AsRock Phantom. It has great features like GPU protection, and with how NVIDIA is handling 12vhpwr connections, that safety net is really useful. The Noctua is indeed top-tier but might be overkill unless you're running extremely high-end setups. If you're not in a rush, you could also wait for the new MSI PSUs coming out soon — they should have some impressive features like per-pin overcurrent protection too.
