Asus TUF A15 stopped charging after a power outage

My Asus TUF A15 was plugged in while I was gaming when the power suddenly went out. I shut the laptop down so I wouldn't drain the remaining battery. After electricity came back, the laptop still worked on battery power but would no longer charge. I've tried several wall sockets with the same result. The laptop doesn't support USB-C charging, so I'm trying to determine whether the power adapter was damaged or the laptop's charging hardware is at fault.

Since this model doesn’t support USB-C charging, the easiest test is to borrow or try another compatible Asus charger. If the replacement charges the laptop, your original adapter was probably damaged. If neither charger works, the issue may be with the laptop’s charging port or internal circuitry.

A power outage or the surge when power returns can damage an adapter, especially if it was left connected. If the charger was plugged in when power came back, it may have been affected. Test with a known-good compatible adapter before assuming the laptop itself has failed.

I normally leave the charger connected while gaming and only switch off the wall outlet when I’m finished using the laptop, so it was still plugged in when the power returned.
