ASUS TUF FX505 briefly lights up but won’t start

My ASUS TUF FX505 suddenly stopped booting. When I press the power button, the keyboard or display backlight comes on for about a second and then shuts off. The fan never spins, and plugging in the charger doesn't change anything. The charging indicator is lit, but the power indicator never turns on. What should I check to determine whether this is a battery, charger, or hardware problem?

Since the charging light works but the power light and fan never start, this sounds more like a power or motherboard issue than an operating-system problem. Try disconnecting the charger, hold the power button for 30–60 seconds, then reconnect the charger and try again. If the laptop has removable RAM or an accessible battery connector, reseating those can also help. If it still only flashes the backlight for a second, the system may need professional hardware diagnosis.

The charging indicator stays on, but the power indicator never lights up. I’ll try the power-drain reset and check the internal connections if they’re accessible.
