My ASUS TUF RTX 5070 Ti 16GB has been giving me trouble. It started with random TDR driver resets, including when I wasn't gaming, where the graphics driver would crash and recover after roughly ten seconds. Now HDMI produces no video signal during startup, so I can't see or enter the BIOS unless I connect the monitor through DisplayPort. HDMI only begins working once Windows loads. Could the 850W power supply be contributing to this, or does the card sound faulty enough to warrant an RMA? The system uses an MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard with the latest BIOS, an Intel Core i7-12700, 32GB of RAM, and a Fractal Ion Gold 850W PSU.

The power supply is unlikely to be the problem, especially if it isn’t old and already meets the card’s recommended wattage. If DisplayPort works reliably, use it as a temporary workaround, since there usually isn’t a meaningful difference between HDMI and DisplayPort unless you’re limited by an older standard. Still, try another HDMI cable and monitor input, and if the TDR crashes continue after a clean driver install, an RMA would be reasonable.
The PSU isn’t very old and does meet the required wattage. I’ve also seen reports of TDR resets involving DisplayPort, so I’d prefer to solve the HDMI issue rather than rely on it permanently. HDMI works once Windows starts, but I’d really like to understand why it fails during startup.
