I'm shopping for a new gaming PC in Poland with a budget of about $2,000, though I'm willing to spend more if the performance gain is worthwhile. I already have a Full HD 240 Hz monitor, Windows, and other peripherals. The only parts from my current system I expect to reuse are a 1 TB XPG GAMMIX S11 Pro NVMe SSD and 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. I strongly prefer AMD and care mainly about gaming performance. Is it worth keeping the DDR4 platform, or should I move to DDR5 for a newer build?

A performance-focused AMD build could use a Ryzen 5 5600X, 5700X, or 5800XT paired with an RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT 16 GB. For the rest, look at a compatible B450 or B550 motherboard, a good 750–850 W 80+ Gold power supply, a decent airflow-focused case, and a capable cooler such as the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Arctic P12 fans are also a solid inexpensive choice.

I already have a B450 A-Pro motherboard. I assumed it wouldn’t work with newer hardware. Is the main compatibility issue the move from DDR4 to DDR5, or are there other limitations?
