I'm looking to build an entry-level gaming PC using an old 1660 Super that I have after upgrading to a new GPU. The goal is to create a system that can handle 1080p gaming at 60fps for most mainstream games. I'm hoping to keep the budget around 400€ excluding the monitor and other peripherals. Any recommendations on components that would fit this plan? I'm located in Europe. Thanks!

The 1660 Super is still decent for entry-level gaming. I recommend checking out the used parts market in your area; you might snag some great deals.
For a budget around 400€, you could go with an AM4 system. It's possible to source some used parts to keep costs down, which would definitely help with your build.
I have an old R5 2400G, but I'm concerned it might bottleneck the 1660 Super. I'm considering the R5 5500 for about 80€, what do you think about that?

Absolutely! The 1660 Super was a great value when it launched and remains a fantastic choice for someone new to PC gaming, especially with features like Super Sampling and frame generation.
