I'm looking to upgrade my setup since my current CPU (an 8700k) isn't cutting it anymore. I'd like to stick with DDR4 RAM for now due to prices, and ideally, I'm aiming for an LGA 1700 socket so I can later switch to a new motherboard when I move to DDR5. I play a wide variety of games, from FPS titles to BeamNG. What CPU would be best for CPU-intensive games like BeamNG, and what combination of CPU and motherboard would really unleash the potential of my 5060ti without breaking the bank?

If you're tight on budget, upgrading to the 9060XT 16GB with AM5 can be good in the long run, but keep in mind that RAM will be an additional cost. If you already have the 5060ti and don't want to spend too much on RAM right now, that option might not work for you.
If you're open to options, the Ryzen 5800 XT is worth considering as well. It handles CPU-heavy games quite well. Just make sure it fits with your budget!
For the best value right now, I'd say go for the 14600k. It's an excellent choice for DDR4 setups and won't leave you broke! It should pair nicely with your 5060ti too.
RAM prices are dropping, so you might want to look into an AM5 setup in the future. You can find it for around $400 online or even less at places like Microcenter. Just something to keep in mind for your upgrade path.
