Hey everyone! I recently created a Telegram bot that runs on cron jobs, and I'd love to deploy it to showcase on my resume. I'm looking for platforms that offer free hosting options. I've considered Railway but haven't committed due to their paid plans. I found that Render doesn't offer free cron jobs, which is a bummer. Does anyone know of a solid platform where I can host my Telegram bot for free? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, it's tough to find free hosting for something like this. If you're open to spending a bit, Hetzner offers servers for under €5 a month, and that's pretty affordable for what you get. If you want to avoid recurring costs, you could look into self-hosting with a Raspberry Pi or another small PC—it's a one-time expense and gives you full control over your bot.
Have you thought about using AWS Lambda? I'm not entirely sure if it suits your bot's needs, but it seems like you can schedule tasks there. I personally use it for my Alexa bridge with Home Assistant, and it's been smooth so far.
Totally agree, AWS Lambdas could work! They were on my mind too, especially since they can handle scheduled tasks.
If you're looking for something really cheap, check out lowendtalk dot com for affordable VPS deals. You can find some low-spec VPS options for around €10 per year, which could serve your needs nicely.
Yeah, a Raspberry Pi Zero is perfect for this! They’re only about $17.
