Best GPU for 1080p CS2 and a 180Hz Monitor Around $300?

I'm choosing a graphics card for a roughly $300 budget. My main game is Counter-Strike 2 at 1080p, and I'd like enough performance to make good use of my 180Hz monitor. My system has a Ryzen 5 5600GT, 16GB of DDR4, an ASRock A520M-HDV motherboard, a 1TB Patriot P300 NVMe SSD, and an MSI G255F 1080p 180Hz display. I'm also moving to 32GB of DDR4-3200 CL16. The cards I'm considering are the RTX 5050, a used RTX 3060, the Radeon RX 9060 XT, and Intel's B580. I've heard the B580 can be inconsistent in CS2, so I'm looking for the best value and the most reliable option near this budget.

Also check used RX 6700 XT, RTX 3070, or possibly RTX 3070 Ti pricing. These can offer more performance than a standard RTX 3060 around the same money, although you should verify the power supply and the card’s condition before buying.

I’d be cautious with the RTX 5050 because its value is weak unless it’s heavily discounted. The RTX 5060 may be a better new option if it’s close to your budget. For 1080p CS2, an 8GB card is generally sufficient, and the RTX 3060, 3060 Ti, or RX 9060 XT should all provide plenty of FPS.

The B580 can work well, but it depends more on platform support and driver behavior. It needs Resizable BAR enabled, and Intel’s overhead can be less ideal with a six-core Ryzen 5 5600GT. Because you’re mainly playing CS2 and want consistent high refresh-rate performance, a used Nvidia card or a well-priced Radeon card would be the safer choice.

The RX 9060 XT is the fastest option mentioned, but check which version and its actual price. The 16GB model is usually well above $300, while the 8GB model may land in the low-to-mid $300 range. If you can genuinely find one close to $300, it would be the strongest new-card choice, but don’t overpay just to get it.

For CS2 specifically, a used RTX 3060 will handle 1080p easily, and a 3060 Ti would be an even better find. The game is not especially demanding on GPU memory at this resolution, so you don’t need to prioritize a huge VRAM buffer. A used RTX 3070 could also be worth considering if prices are reasonable.
