I'm looking to upgrade my AM4 build soon. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 5600X and a GeForce RTX 3060 (12GB). I've already got a CPU upgrade in mind to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but I'm a bit stuck on which GPU to choose. My budget is around $500, and I'm okay with buying used components. I've seen the RTX 4070 Ti and RX 5070 available for around $500 used, and there's even a local RX 9070 non-XT for about $550. I'm considering either the RX 5070 Ti or the RX 9070 XT, but those are typically in the $600-$700 range. I'm not looking to switch to AM5 due to the high prices.

Honestly, if you're seeing the regular RX 9070 for around $530, that’s a great deal! If you're aiming for performance, that’s the card to grab, especially if you find it for about the same price as the 4070 Ti.
I had a similar setup before upgrading. I eventually chose the RX 5070, and it was a fantastic investment. Considering the AM5 and DDR5 prices, this is a worthwhile option!
I'd recommend looking at the RX 5070 as well. Around $500, it outperforms the 4070 Ti and comes with warranty, plus it has multi-frame technology which is a bonus for future-proofing your build.
Going for the regular RX 9070 16GB is a smart move. It's roughly 10% slower than the 9070 XT but offers fantastic value for just over $500. If you can stretch your budget just a little, that would deliver better performance overall.
The RX 9070 is definitely a better choice than the 4070 Ti, especially since it has more VRAM. For pure rasterization performance, you can't go wrong with the 9070 non-XT. If you can find it around your budget, that's the way to go! Just keep in mind that while the 4070 Ti may be faster in some scenarios, its 12GB of VRAM might limit its performance in the long run.
I’m seeing samples of the RX 9070 at about $530. If the price is right, I’d grab it, even if it’s slightly under the top-end options.
I went for the 5070 myself recently and paid around €590. It’s quite solid, and I’m really happy with the choice!
