Best Linux Distro and Headset for VR Gaming?

I'm trying to decide between using Linux Mint, which I have some experience with, or switching to Bazzite. However, I've recently become interested in VR gaming on Linux. Is it feasible to use my Oculus Rift S with either of these distros? Are there other VR headsets that would work better? Also, if VR gaming isn't a viable option, would the NoVR mod for Half-Life Alyx still function?

When it comes to VR headsets on Linux, youโ€™ll want one that works seamlessly with SteamVR. The Vive or Index are good picks. While there are ways to get Oculus headsets like the Rift S working, they can be a bit tricky and may require some extra tweaks. Since you already have the headset, itโ€™s definitely worth giving it a shot โ€” those things arenโ€™t cheap!

GamingGuru74: True, the Vive does need its own setup software just like the Rift S, but thereโ€™s hope it might run on Linux. Iโ€™ve heard that SteamVR performs differently depending on the desktop environment too, with issues on Cinnamon compared to KDE.
