I'm looking for advice on the best Linux distribution for my Acer Aspire One D250 netbook. Here are the specs: it has an Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6 GHz), 1 GB of RAM, and a 160 GB HDD with a 10.1" 1024x600 display. It supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Bluetooth, and weighs about 1.2 kg. If anyone has recommendations, I would really appreciate it!

Bodhi Linux 7.0 runs great on the Aspire One D250. Just make sure you download the 32-bit version since the Atom N270 isn’t compatible with 64-bit systems.
For your specs, antiX is a solid choice. The 32-bit version works well, and it’s lightweight. You might want to check out Puppy Linux too. Just note that with max RAM at 2 GB, it might struggle with heavy browsing tasks.
If you need some specific recommendations based on RAM: for 1 GB or more, antiX Linux IceWM is nice. Puppy Linux could also work well under those conditions. Personally, I'd lean towards antiX. It's quite optimized for older hardware.
Definitely give antiX and Puppy Linux a try. Since they are lightweight, they should perform better on your netbook. You can also experiment with some other 32-bit distros like Damn Small Linux or BunsenLabs. Booting them from a USB stick is a good idea to test compatibility before installation.
