Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a new PC since my old one finally gave up. The last time I built a PC was in 2020, so I'm a bit out of the loop on the latest hardware. My budget is around £1600, and I want to hit a consistent 360 FPS in Valorant while streaming, without any frame drops. What CPU and GPU would you recommend? Also, do I really need to worry about which motherboard I choose?

For your budget, I'd suggest looking at the Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with an RTX 4070. The motherboard is definitely important! A quality board can cost around £120-£150; cheaper ones might skimp on power delivery, which isn’t great for high-performance CPUs. Plus, some of those budget boards won’t have RGB headers if that's your thing! Better quality boards also generally look much nicer.

I’d recommend going with the AM4 platform. A 5600X or 5700X coupled with a 3060 or any of the 6700 series GPUs will give you great performance for Valorant. Just make sure to pair it with a B450 motherboard, 16GB of 3600 MHz RAM, and a solid 650-750W PSU. You can optimize your Windows settings for best performance, and you might find yourself hitting 800 FPS or even higher at high settings! And don't forget a high refresh rate monitor for the best experience!

Here's a budget-friendly build that looks like it'll hit the mark for you. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is fantastic for FPS, and you should comfortably stream while gaming. Your motherboard choice is significant, but a B850 board should suffice. If you have more questions about specific components, feel free to ask!

I can’t believe RAM is hitting that price point now! £300 for 32GB is just insane.

Assuming you're in the UK since you mentioned pounds, here's a solid build that totals about £1450, leaving you some room for accessories. Check out this parts list: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RX 6900XT 16GB, 32GB DDR5 RAM (those Crucial ones are usually the best deal), and a 1TB SSD (or go for 2TB if you want). You’ll definitely need a 750W Gold PSU to make sure everything runs smoothly, and you can choose any case and cooler you like! Good luck!

If you’re focused only on Valorant, a build with the 9800X3D and a 5060 Ti should work wonders! Those components are geared for high FPS and should handle your gaming/streaming well without breaking the bank.
