Hey there! I'm considering some upgrades for my PC to enhance my experience with ZBrush, Blender, and Substance Painter. My current setup has been struggling with more demanding tasks, particularly with slow rendering, low FPS in 3D animations, and lag when working with high polygon models. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, ASUS B550 WiFi motherboard, 32GB RAM, 1TB M.2 SSD, RTX 4060 GPU, and a 750W Gold PSU. I'm looking to spend around $1250 on upgrades. Do you think this budget is adequate?

I think the priority should be on a better GPU since many rendering tasks rely heavily on it. Make sure your GPU has at least 16GB of VRAM. A solid upgrade path could be to get an RTX 4080 or a 4070 Ti. Just remember that for 3D animations, the CPU really matters, so giving thought to both CPU and GPU upgrades might balance out performance issues effectively.
Have you checked your RAM usage? Sometimes 32GB may not be enough for heavy projects. I recommend upgrading to 64GB. Also, consider replacing your RTX 4060 with a more powerful GPU like the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER or even the RTX 4080 for better performance. Upgrading to a Ryzen 9 5950X might be beneficial too, but don’t forget to update your motherboard BIOS first! And if you're facing storage issues, adding another NVMe drive could help.
If you're okay with a full upgrade, you might want to look at the AM5 platform. Consider a CPU like the 9950X3D for around $550 and a Gigabyte B650 motherboard for about $120. DDR5 RAM can be pricey though, but you’ll likely need 32GB or more. The good news is you can keep your GPU and PSU, as the 750W should handle it just fine!

Totally agree! Upgrading the GPU first could give you a significant boost without diving into a full platform switch. You might find that solves a lot of your issues. Plus, RAM prices are nuts right now, so you could save money that way.
