Black Screen and Red CPU LED After BIOS Flashback on ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A

My PC was working normally with an ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A motherboard, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64GB Silicon Power Xpower DDR5-6000, and an RTX 4070 Ti Super. I used the motherboard's BIOS FlashBack feature to install BIOS version 2042, following ASUS's instructions carefully. The rear FlashBack indicator suggested the update completed successfully, but afterward the system only shows a black screen and the motherboard's red CPU diagnostic light stays on. Clearing CMOS, reinstalling the BIOS, and trying to boot with a single RAM stick have not changed anything. What should I check next?

Using BIOS FlashBack is a valid way to update the firmware, so the feature itself was not necessarily the mistake. The important details are which exact BIOS file was used and whether it matches the motherboard model. Double-check that the download was specifically for the ROG STRIX X870-A, that the file was renamed with ASUS’s utility, and that the USB drive was formatted as FAT32. Since the red CPU LED appeared after the update, try a full CMOS reset, verify the 8-pin CPU power connector is firmly attached, and let the system sit for several minutes on the first boot so the memory can retrain. If it still fails, retry FlashBack with a known-compatible BIOS version rather than assuming the LED only confirms that the system can boot.
