I was wondering if a laser pointer could potentially burn out the sensor of a camera, specifically on those Meta Ray-Ban glasses. Is it safe to use or should I avoid it?

Actually, yes, it can happen. I know someone who accidentally damaged their camera sensor with a stronger laser. So while a regular laser pointer might not do it, it's still not something you want to risk!

It probably won't hurt the sensor with a typical laser pointer, but just to be safe, don't shine high-powered lasers at any camera sensor. They can definitely get damaged with stronger lasers.

What's considered a strong laser, though?

No, you shouldn't worry too much about your camera getting damaged by a regular laser pointer. But just as a general rule, it's important not to aim lasers at people's eyes, especially if they're wearing something like those glasses.

I totally agree! Just keep lasers away from anyone's face.
