Kingston confirmed that my current memory is defective and is offering to replace four separately purchased 16GB sticks with a 128GB kit: four 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18 modules. My system uses a Ryzen 7 5800X and an ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard. The existing 64GB runs at 3600MHz, but the replacement modules are dual-rank and higher capacity. Should I expect all four sticks to work at 3600MHz, or would 3200MHz be a more realistic target? I use the computer for gaming, Blender, Unreal Engine, and other 3D development work, so I have reached around 50GB of memory usage before.

Several AM4 systems run 128GB of DDR4 without major problems, so it is definitely worth trying the full kit at 3600MHz first. If it passes memory testing and normal workloads, there is no reason to lower the speed. If you see crashes, boot loops, or memory errors, stepping down to 3200MHz is a sensible fallback. You can also keep two modules installed at 3600MHz and store the others if the complete configuration proves difficult.
Since you genuinely use more than 32GB for Blender, Unreal, and 3D work, the extra capacity is not necessarily wasteful. I would keep the full kit unless there is a strong local buyer, especially since selling a high-capacity DDR4 kit internationally can involve expensive shipping and customs complications. Capacity is likely to help your workloads more than a small memory-frequency difference.
The motherboard and memory controller matter more here than the CPU model itself. Your X570 board and Ryzen 5000 processor are a good platform for this, and 128GB may work at 3600MHz, but four high-capacity dual-rank modules put more stress on the memory controller than your current setup. Update to the latest stable BIOS, enable the memory profile, and run a proper stability test. If 3600MHz is unstable, try 3200MHz or adjust the memory settings manually. Using only two modules would generally give you the best chance of maintaining 3600MHz.

I would be careful about splitting the kit. Kingston is treating the replacement as one four-module kit, so selling two sticks could make a future warranty claim more complicated and reduce the buyer's confidence.
