Can an Insignia Blu-ray player burn discs or connect to a computer?

I recently got an Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 Blu-ray player and was hoping to use it to burn my own DVDs or Blu-ray discs. I have a Steam Deck with a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter and some available ports, but I'm unsure whether the player can connect to a computer at all. The back has a small round jack with a center pin and no obvious labeling, while the front also has a USB port. I don't want to connect the wrong cable and damage anything. What are these ports for, and can this device actually burn discs?

The optical or coaxial output on a Blu-ray player is only for sending digital audio to a receiver or sound system. It doesn’t send video or data to a computer, and it can’t be used to capture or burn discs. Also, the HDMI port on a Steam Deck is an output, not an input, so it can’t receive a signal from the player.

The NS-WBRDVD2 is a standalone Blu-ray player, not a Blu-ray burner. It’s designed to read and play purchased or burned discs through a TV. The front USB port is generally for playing supported media files or updates, not for burning discs. The small round jack on the back is most likely a power connection or coaxial digital-audio output, depending on the labeling and exact hardware—don’t plug anything into it until you confirm the model’s manual and voltage requirements.

The product information mentioned BDR technology, which made me think it could record. I also have disc-burning software, but I’ll avoid connecting it until I know what the ports do.
