Can an old NVIDIA GPU like the GeForce 755M run CachyOS well?

I'm using a 2013 iMac with a GeForce 755M GPU, and since I'm on a budget, I want to know if this setup will handle CachyOS effectively. I previously ran a lightweight version of Windows 10 (Enterprise LTSC) without major issues. Will moving to CachyOS be better or will it struggle since the GPU is quite old?

Yeah, it should work, most likely! But keep your expectations in check since it's an older GPU.

You'll probably need to stick with the open source drivers for better compatibility with Wayland, but don't expect stellar gaming performance.

Yeah, if you've got the LTSB version of Windows, it might just perform better on that, especially for games.

If your GPU has proprietary drivers available, I'd recommend avoiding any distros that don't include those drivers by default. You might want to try BigLinux, EndeavourOS, or Zorin, making sure to select their proprietary drivers options when installing.

Actually, CachyOS does come with Nvidia driver support out of the box, so that could work for you!
