I'm genuinely curious—if I decide to delete my Telegram account, does that really unlink my IP address and phone number from it? Also, I've heard that Telegram keeps metadata for just 12 months. If that's true, does that mean that even law enforcement can't trace me after that time?

Deleting your account doesn’t necessarily make you untraceable. Telegram is based in Russia and might not follow through on their privacy promises. They could still hold onto your data even after you delete your account.
