Can Docker Sandboxes Be Installed on Debian or Fedora?

Docker's Linux sandbox support through the "sbx" CLI appears to be limited to Ubuntu. Until recently, Docker Desktop also included a more limited sandbox feature under the "docker sandbox" command, but that command has since been deprecated. Has anyone managed to install the Debian package or otherwise run the sandbox tools on Debian, Fedora, or another non-Ubuntu distribution?

There is an RPM package for Rocky Linux 8, and it reportedly works on Fedora as well. Some people have tried forcing the Debian package onto Debian systems, but it isnโ€™t reliable. Hardware virtualization through KVM on a bare-metal host is also required.

MellowCedar47: I tried the Debian package on Debian 13 with KVM available directly on the machine, but it still failed to install or run.

The sandbox source code isnโ€™t publicly available, so compiling it yourself doesnโ€™t seem to be an option. The main distributions people have been asking about are Debian and Fedora desktops.
