Can Google Redirect You to a Malicious Site Without Your Clicking?

I've been having this issue where when I search for 'zlib', Google seems to automatically redirect me to a scam Zlibrary site. It's been blocked by Browser Guard, and I want to understand how this is happening. I've already scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, and everything came back clean. This redirection only occurs for that specific search. What's going on?

Are you saying that Google is sending you to another website without any clicks from your side? That really shouldn't happen! But I've noticed that Google searches seem to have some odd behaviors lately.

It sounds like you might be encountering a tricky situation. Typically, Google shouldn't redirect you to another page without you clicking a link. The only exception would be if you used the "I'm feeling lucky" button. If your browser is redirecting you, it may be worth checking your extensions for anything that could cause this.

Yeah, it does redirect me without me clicking, just from typing 'zlib' in the search bar!
