I have a Ryzen 7 5700G processor, and my system only lists AMD Radeon Graphics rather than showing a separate graphics card. I mainly play games such as Genshin Impact and would like better graphical performance. Is the graphics processor built into the CPU, and can I install a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics card? I'm also working with a limited budget, so I'd appreciate suggestions for a reasonably priced upgrade and advice on where it would be installed.

You aren’t locked into AMD just because the processor is AMD. An NVIDIA card will work fine with the Ryzen 7 5700G, and an AMD card will also work. Look for a used GTX 1650, GTX 1060, RX 580, or RX 6600 depending on your budget. The RX 6600 is considerably faster than a GTX 1050, but check your power supply and available case space before buying.
The Ryzen 7 5700G includes integrated Radeon graphics, so your computer may not currently have a separate graphics card. You can add one in the motherboard’s full-length PCIe x16 slot, assuming your case has room and your power supply can handle it. After installing it, connect your monitor to the new card instead of the motherboard’s video output.
Where exactly would I find that slot? I’m not very familiar with the inside of the PC.
Before purchasing anything, check the label on your power supply for its wattage and available PCIe power connectors. Also measure the clearance inside the case, since some graphics cards are fairly long or use multiple slots. If your monitor is currently plugged into the motherboard, make sure it gets connected to the dedicated card after installation.
I’m on a pretty tight budget, so I’ll check those details first and look at used cards if necessary.
I’d be happy with AMD too; I mainly want something noticeably better than the integrated graphics. I may need to save up for it.
