Can I Build a 4K Gaming PC for Under $800?

I'm looking to build a gaming PC that can handle 4K graphics and has at least 500GB of storage. The budget is flexible but shouldn't exceed $890. I'm also open to suggestions for a suitable case, and the keyboard and mouse won't count toward the total. Any advice or recommendations?

Honestly, just get a PS5 Pro if you can. It'll save you a lot of hassle trying to piece together a budget PC.

Honestly, with an $800 budget, you're not going to get a PC that can handle decent 4K gaming. You might want to consider a console instead if you're aiming for those graphics. It's just too tough to make it work within that price range right now.

If you really want to try, you could build around an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB card, which is around $350. It's not going to natively support 4K, but you could run 4K in DLSS performance mode, which upscales from 1080p. Plus, Newegg has a good deal on a Ryzen 7600X bundle right now for $450, but finding a good case and PSU for an extra $100 could be tough. You might have to dig around for something used.

If you're set on a budget build, I'd recommend looking at the used market. You could get a Ryzen 5 3600 and some DDR4 RAM to save money. There's no way around it though; expect to play at 1080p with high settings. Check out this build list I put together for more ideas.

Yeah, used parts can really help. Just make sure to buy from reliable sellers!

It's pretty much impossible to build a good 4K gaming PC for under $800. I built mine for over $1,000 using second-hand parts, and even then, I struggled. For solid 4K performance, you should be prepared to spend more.
