I've wanted to build my own gaming PC forever and now that I finally have the funds, I'm excited to start. However, this will be my first build, and I've mainly used laptops until now. Given the current RAM shortage and high prices, I'm worried that if I wait any longer, I might miss my chance to get a decent setup. Is it feasible to build a gaming PC on an $800 budget? I'm not after top-of-the-line specs – I have a PS5 that can handle demanding games. I just want a rig that can run Minecraft with shaders at a respectable level.

If you're set on building, wait a little longer if you can. RAM prices are brutal right now, and it's just not a solid investment at this point.
Building for $800 is tight right now, especially with RAM costs. You might want to consider buying a used gaming PC instead; it's often a better value than building new.
Check out this example build! It’s listed for $822 and has great specs for gaming without breaking the bank.

I still think you can put together a PC for that budget that runs Minecraft with shaders. Just be smart about parts!
