I have a six-year-old Eurocom Sky X7C gaming laptop that has been great, but I'm starting to have some issues. Lately, the screen goes black randomly, and the only way to get it back is by force shutting it down and waiting a bit. This seems to happen especially with certain games and programs like Microsoft Edge. I suspect the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card is failing. Is there anything I can do to salvage this laptop? I'm not expecting high performance, just something usable for my kids to play light games. While I know I'll eventually need a new gaming PC, I'd rather not just throw this one away. Any suggestions?

If the GPU is failing, you might need to disable it in the BIOS and rely on the integrated graphics instead. It won't be great for gaming, but it could work for lighter tasks.

I actually have the manual that says I might be able to remove the GPU since it isn't soldered. Can I replace it with a compatible card?
