I have this old iPod my mom gave me ages ago, and now it suddenly won't get past the 'connect to iTunes' screen. The issue is, this device is so old that no one remembers the account details for the content that's on it. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this, or is it just a lost cause? Also, I should mention that the power button hasn't worked for over ten years.

It’s tough to say for sure, but if it’s an iPod Touch, you might still have some options. Try plugging it into a computer with iTunes and see if it recognizes the device. Sometimes a restore might help get it out of that screen; just keep in mind it will erase the data on it. If it’s a classic or nano, they have their own quirks, and it might be harder to troubleshoot without the account info. Good luck!

Definitely back it up first, if you can access it! It might be your last shot before trying a restore.
