Can I Install an Additional SSD in My Lenovo Legion Laptop?

I'm considering upgrading my Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H laptop. It currently has a 500GB SSD and a 2TB HDD. I've noticed there's another SSD slot available under the hard drive bay. Is it possible to install an additional SSD in that slot and still keep my HDD? Or, would I need to either replace the HDD with a new SSD or upgrade my existing SSD to a larger one? I know the HDD bay needs to be removed to access the second SSD, so I'm not quite sure if I can put the HDD back after installing the second SSD.

According to the specs, you typically have to choose between a dual SSD setup or one SSD plus an HDD. So, if you add another SSD, you'll likely need to replace the HDD instead of keeping both.

Thanks for the clarification! I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. I like having my current SSD for essential files and a 2TB HDD for my older games. But if I replaced the HDD with a big SSD, I’d have to think about where to store my games. It's a tough call!

Glad I could help! It's definitely a tough decision, especially since HDDs are great for older games and storage.

Yes, you can use a 2TB SSD along with your current setup. Just be aware that if you install a second SSD, you might have to forgo the HDD unless you can work around the specs.

For the best performance, it's recommended to go with a dual SSD configuration. You can fit two M.2 SSDs, each up to 1TB. But if you want to keep an HDD, you can still use one SSD alongside it. Some users have reported success using 2TB SSDs, despite what the manual states.

Cool! I've heard that 2TB SSDs work fine too, so it sounds like a viable option!
