I'm trying to find a way to adjust the mounting positions for my ATX motherboard. I have about 4 inches of space from the top of the motherboard to the edge of the case, but I feel that the CPU cooler is a bit too close to my ASUS 5080 GPU for comfort. Is there a way to move the motherboard up without causing issues?

Shifting the motherboard itself won't really change the distance between your CPU cooler and the GPU. Both the GPU slot and CPU socket will stay in their original locations. If you're using an AIO cooler, it might be a different story, but generally, just moving the motherboard isn’t going to fix your spacing issue.
I totally feel you on needing some more space there! But honestly, if you move the motherboard, you're going to run into alignment problems with the case slots and I/O shield. If you're not experienced with metalwork, it might be tricky to make those adjustments. Your best bet might be to consider a case that supports vertical GPU mounting, or going for a Threadripper setup where you could switch PCIe slots more flexibly!
